conservation issues on paintings in situ

This is a joint meeting of the Picture Meeting and Kleurhistorisch Platform held in the Grote Kerk Breda.

A beautiful and light building, little bit cold so most of us kept their coats on. The lectures were great, can't talk about all of them, but I was very impressed by the conservation and research on a huge wallpainting of Sint Christopher in this church. The conservation was executed by Karin Keutgens and Bernard Delmotte. What interested me most was that they worked together with Perla Colombini Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Pisa, she talked about the conservation science, method and results.
During lunch we were well served by mister Willem van der Vis, director of the Grote Kerk and his staff, hot soup was very welcome and made the day!
